Set up your Email on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

These instructions apply to any

  1. On your iPhone or iPod Touch screen tap Settings and then Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

  2. Tap Add Account... under Accounts.

  3. On the Add Account... screen, tap Other at the bottom.

  4. Tap Add Mail Account under Mail.

  5. Fill-in the Name, Address, Password, and Description fields and tap Next at the top of the screen.

    Name: Your name
    Address: Your telnetmail.ca email address
    Password: Your telnetmail.ca password
    Description: Whatever you want to identify this email account in the list of email accounts on your phone

  6. Tap IMAP or POP.

    Choose IMAP If…
    • you want to access your email from multiple devices
    • your local storage space is limited
    • you are worried about backing up

    Choose POP If…
    • you want to access your mail only from your iPhone
    • you need constant access to your email, regardless of internet availability
    • your server storage space is limited

    If you aren’t sure which to use choose IMAP.

  7. For the Incoming Mail Server use the following:

    Host Name: mail.telnetmail.ca
    User Name: Your telnetmail.ca email address
    Password: Your email password

  8. For the Outgoing Mail Server use the following:

    Host Name: mail.telnetmail.ca
    User Name: Your telnetmail.ca email address
    Password: Your email password

  9. Tap Next at the top of the screen.

    Your device will now try to verify your settings. This can take awhile. After the account has been verified, you will be taken back to the main Accounts screen.

You should now be able to send and receive email.
